Tarte au Chocolat (basic recipe)

IMG_3304 IMG_3302 IMG_3288

No cake base – no topping – only a bar of chocolate in the shape of a cake. Not much ingredients and easy to make. No fluffy texture, but pretty tight. Just ahead of my advent and Christmas baking I want to share this recipe with you and hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients:

600 gr. dark chocolate

6 eggs (4 separated)

180 gr. sugar

150 gr. butter

2 Tsp. liquid vanilla (2 sachets vanilla sugar)

A bit butter for the pan

Tarte form pan (or springform pan) 10 ¼“

Pre-heated oven at 320°F (top bottom heat)

Direction:

For this recipe I use my tarte form pan with a removable ground.

Melt the chocolate with the butter in a pan at low heat. Put aside and let it cool down a bit.

Mix the four egg whites until firm.

Put the two eggs and the four egg yolks into a bowl together with the sugar and the vanilla and mix until foamy.

Add slowly while mixing the now a bit cooler chocolate-butter-mixture.

In the end fold in gently the firm egg whites.

Fill the batter into your pan and put it in the pre-heated oven at 320°F for 30 minutes.

For the cool down switch off your oven and let the oven door ajar for approximately 20 minutes.

And here we are – not much to do for a really dark chocolate pleasure.

Yours
